I'm Still A Hooker at Heart

Just a quick post today....

I know I have been doing a lot of non crochet crafts lately, but that is just because I am trying to give my hands a rest. They have seem to be hurting more and more when I crochet. But with that said at least once a week I am still working on my small granny square scrap blanket. I really need to count how many squares I have now. I am sure, I still don't have nearly enough.

Milton....You Slowpoke!

This is Milton....he's from Stacey Trock's latest book.

I have had this book for awhile now and probably look at it everyday. I took me forever to decided what I wanted to make first. I was stuck on the Giraffe, the Snake, and this little guy. HE WON!

I think what I like best about Stacey's (because we are on a first name basis...haha, not really) book, is that she tells you exactly where to attach the parts. I always have a hard time determining that, and have to ask my son over and over again, "Does this look right?" When he goes to college in the fall, I'll be screwed. LOL

So here is Milton in all his Glory....

Uh, he actually has a mouth in the book, but, I couldn't seem to get it to look right, so I left it off. If you don't know, I think he is still pretty cute. Now he just needs to find a home. :)

Yarn Used: Red Heart in Buff and Caron Simply Soft in Sage Green

On Sunday, I put in some time on the small granny blanket (take about slow motion...see what I did there?)

I made a few more circles and actually weaved in the ends at the same time.

This is usually what I work on Friday nights when I am at job # 2, but it took a back seat for a couple of weeks while I worked on the bunny for Easter.

I started to run low on yarn scraps...no worries though, I have plenty of not so scrappy skeins to bust into.

What I'm (still) Working On

Uh, yeah,still working on the Corner Granny... I took a couple of days off from it, and then when I was ready get get back at it, I bought the wrong color of yarn. DUH! Oh well, Michael's is less than 5 minutes from my house. I have a few more rows of the darker red (Cranberry is the color name), and then I'll just have the brown left.

Joshua asked me if I was going to put a border on it, hmmmm...I will have to give that some thought. And if I do, what color should it be?



And of course "Inspector YaYa" is always on his post :)


I have also still been working on my small granny circle in a square blanket. I got all the ends sewn in for the old squares and then I started making new ones.



Well, yes that is my Spongebob lunch box holding the squares :)




The colors are pretty random, because I am using scraps/leftovers only. At least that is my goal as of now.

What I've Been Woking On...

I am still working on my Corner Granny Blanket. It is coming along great. The original pattern calls for 6 color changes, I added one additional color and am thinking about adding another.

Check out more pictures of it. I just start the 2nd shade of red, and then I will do one shade of brown....maybe two.

 

And of course all things cozy must be inspected by this little guy :)

One At A Time, Please!

I have never been a afghan maker...way to much time involved and I bore super easy. I really always want to make one or two, but the thought makes my head spin...so I don't.

I was at a friend's house a couple of weeks ago (she's a knitter) and she showed me all the things she was working on (there had to be 5 or 6 of them). I couldn't believe it! Then she said the same thing I'm always thinking, "I bore to easy to just work on one thing." Hmmmmm....I never work on more then one project at a time, NEVER! I have to finish one before I go onto another. I think it's an organization issue, I am not a fan of stuff just sitting around "unfinished". Maybe that is why I can't commit to a blanket.

Light Bulb. Yep it's hovering over the top of my head right now.....

So I decided to start on a couple or three projects all at the same time. Say it ain't so, heehee. Super crazy for me. I know and read about people having multiple projects going, and I always am in amazement that they do it. So this past week I have had the pillow going (check it out here and here). I also started a corner granny blanket. I don't have pictures of it yet, but here is the link for the pattern. Then I also started a circle in a square granny blanket, that probably will never be done. Check out the pictures below.

Uh so, this theory only works if I actually work on all the projects. LOL. I found myself just working on one, and looking at the others feeling guilty because they were unfinished. Way to stressful! This crochet thing is suppose to be fun, right? Soback I go to one at a time. Although I didn't really give myself enough time to adjust to the idea...maybe I will try again later, not today, nope not today. :)
