One At A Time, Please!

I have never been a afghan maker...way to much time involved and I bore super easy. I really always want to make one or two, but the thought makes my head spin...so I don't.

I was at a friend's house a couple of weeks ago (she's a knitter) and she showed me all the things she was working on (there had to be 5 or 6 of them). I couldn't believe it! Then she said the same thing I'm always thinking, "I bore to easy to just work on one thing." Hmmmmm....I never work on more then one project at a time, NEVER! I have to finish one before I go onto another. I think it's an organization issue, I am not a fan of stuff just sitting around "unfinished". Maybe that is why I can't commit to a blanket.

Light Bulb. Yep it's hovering over the top of my head right now.....

So I decided to start on a couple or three projects all at the same time. Say it ain't so, heehee. Super crazy for me. I know and read about people having multiple projects going, and I always am in amazement that they do it. So this past week I have had the pillow going (check it out here and here). I also started a corner granny blanket. I don't have pictures of it yet, but here is the link for the pattern. Then I also started a circle in a square granny blanket, that probably will never be done. Check out the pictures below.

Uh so, this theory only works if I actually work on all the projects. LOL. I found myself just working on one, and looking at the others feeling guilty because they were unfinished. Way to stressful! This crochet thing is suppose to be fun, right? Soback I go to one at a time. Although I didn't really give myself enough time to adjust to the idea...maybe I will try again later, not today, nope not today. :)

Crochet Along Part 2

Before I get to the Crochet Along, I have to point this out...Check out the last two sentences... One week after that, 5 inches of snow. LOL

Back tot he Crochet Along. Check out my Part 1 here

I am running a little behind, so I didn't completely finish both sides. but I am close. Once I got the hang of it, it worked up pretty fast. I will admit though, I had to start over once or twice (I should have watched the video).

I decided to make both sides of the pillow the same using the stripey yarn, mostly because I really like the way it looks. I will add the fur around the edges.

Week 3 starts today!

A Hat For The Day

Last Thursday was hat day at my daughter's school, so of course I had to make her a new hat to wear. She really like it! She wore it all day at school, she wore it all night at home. Even when she got ready for bed, she had it on with her pjs. LOL I wish I would have took a picture of that one.

Pattern details: this pattern came from a book called  Get Your Crochet On! by Afya Ibomu

March

I know every month is National "Something" Month, so I thought I would come up with a list of what these are for March. I was obvious pretty bored. heehee
Here's some of the ones I could find:

National Nutrition Month - Theme: Get Your Plate In Shape
Natonal Frozen Food Month (same month as Nutrition, hmmmmm)
National Sauce Month (I'm a condiment junkie)

I decided to go to wkipedia (Duh, should have went there first)..... They had a list too:
  • Irish-American Heritage Month (DUH!)
  • Greek-American Heritage Month
  • National Brain Injury Awareness Month
  • Juvenile Arthritis Awareness Month
  • Self Harm Awareness Month
  • National Essential Tremor Awareness Month (I have to read about this one, had never heard of it)
Okay that's all I could come up with in  short time frame....I am so sure that there are more out there. Which is your favorite???? Do you know some that I didn't list???

Crochet Along....

So I was looking around favecrafts.com blog (after a little flickr prompt to check it out), and found out that All Free Crochet.com is having a crochet along. Even better, it's for a pillow cover! Since I'm on this pillow kick these days, it is so very perfect for me. Check it out here: Pillow Crochet Along. It started Wednesday of last week, with the gathering of supplies. Today we get part of the pattern to work on for Week 2, and then the rest the following week. Uh, yes, I am excited. LOL

As soon as I read the supply list, I started thinking of what kind of yarn and colors I could use. Then I remember that I got this color purple (my favorite color) eyelash yarn as a Christmas gift....SCORE....So I picked the rest of the yarn/colors based off that eyelash yarn. Check it out below.

Isn't it pretty? Not sure if you can tell from the picture, but it is sparkly. My daughter is gonna love this when it's done.

So anyway, I took a little trip to Michael's....Then I went to Joann's....FOUND IT, even though I didn't know what I was looking for before I got there. :)

I actually already had the purple Gala Yarn, from a previous Big Lots trip.

Now I am ready!!

Forever February....

For this to be the shortest month of the year, it is taking forever to end!

I thought when you are super busy, time is supposed to fly by? Maybe it because I have been so busy this month I have been anticipating the end. Here's the run down:
January 27-28 - Son's College Audition #1 - University of KY
February 3-4 - Daughter's Swim Meet
February 10-11 - Son's College Audition #2 - University of TN
February 18 - Daughters Swim Meet
February 25 - Son's College Audition #3- Morehead State University
March 2-4 - Daughter's State Swim Meet
WHEW!!!!
That's not including the second job and and swim team practice three times a week and Percussion lessons once a week.

I am taking a mini STAYCATION when it is all over. :) Of course I wouldn't change a thing, I mean, what the heck else would I be doing???
